It’s been more than five years since Generation Food Truck (GFT) owners, Jeremy and Candy Gomez, set the Guinness World Record for the Largest Parade of Food Trucks with 121 vehicles at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida. Ever since this amazing event, food truck rallies have continued to grow in popularity around the country. This weekend, GFT will be at Coachman Park in Clearwater, Florida, along with Fire & Rice and 200-plus food trucks from all over the US, intent on breaking the record.

Chef Paul Schmidgall’s Focus Shifts to Expanding the Paella Catering Franchise
More than a decade ago, Chef Paul Schmidgall brought his paella concept to Naples, and it caught on like wildfire. His catering food truck business was different than anything else the Naples area had to offer, and people couldn’t get enough. In no time, customers were lining up at the local farmers’ markets early in the morning to get a taste of his first batch of paella. Soon, the company began catering private parties at people’s homes and corporate functions. Now, you can find Fire & Rice at events throughout the region, including the PGA Tour.
It wasn’t long before Chef Paul decided to franchise the business. His concept was so appealing that you can now find multiple Fire & Rice locations across the country. As the existing franchises continue to grow, the timing is right for Chef Paul to shift his focus to Fire & Rice franchise development. The next areas for expansion are in the Southeast and Midwest markets. Back in Naples, Colleen Connolly will manage Fire & Rice-Naples Original Paella. But, it’s not like you’ll never see Chef Paul again. He’ll still be involved!

The Local Farmers’ Markets Are Officially Open! Come Down to Visit Our Naples Paella Food Truck & Join in the Fun
The local farmers’ markets are officially open, and we couldn’t be more excited. We love being in the middle of all the excitement and connecting with our customers every week. There’s nothing better than interacting with the crowd, serving up our delicious paella, and seeing all the smiles!
Third Street Farmers’ Market in Naples
The Third Street Famers’ Market in Naples runs all year long, but we decided to kick off our market season a month early on Saturday, November 2nd. The market will be open every Saturday from 7:30-11:30 am through the middle of April. Located on Third Street South between Broad Avenue South and 13th Avenue South, the market offers delicious seafood, cheeses, pastas, grass-fed beef, jams, prepared foods, and, of course, award-winning paella from Fire & Rice!
You’ll find our Naples’ food truck at the Third Street Farmers’ Market each week during the season. This past Saturday, so many people came out to enjoy our paella. We got to see so many of our customers – it was an absolute delight.
Marco Island Farmers’ Market
Another local tradition is the Marco Island Farmers’ Market, which officially opened on Wednesday, November 13th. The market is located at Veterans’ Community Park and is open from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesdays through the middle of April. You’ll find fresh fruit, seafood, honey, sauces, chocolate, fresh flowers, exotic jewelry, soaps, local artwork, and so much more.
Each week, you’ll find Fire & Rice at the market, right at the center of all the action. This past Wednesday, it was so wonderful to see all the smiling faces returning to the market. We love having the opportunity to serve our customers on a regular basis through the busy season. It’s a wonderful time for all.
