At Fire & Rice, we continue to proactively secure the high-quality ingredients we need to please our customers. From catering and farmers markets to private parties, we won’t let you down! We are passionate about our Fire & Rice Paella, and we love that so many of our customers feel the same.
You may be aware the restaurant industry is having a tough time these days. In the news, we keep hearing how supply chain issues and labor shortages are affecting every type of restaurant. Of course, other industries are experiencing these problems, too. Restaurants need a constant supply of the ingredients that go into making the delicious meals they create every day, every night. They need workers to prepare and serve food the public wants to eat.
What many people don’t realize is even the “little guys” are impacted. By this we mean that the smaller restaurants and even your favorite caterers and food trucks are part of this scenario.
It’s natural for people to assume a favorite caterer they used last month or last year is still operating and able to meet demand. When you go to a farmers market in Naples or Marco Island, you expect your favorite food vendors to be there week after week. Fire & Rice is here for you with our delicious, traditional Spanish paella! We have been very proactive about securing the ingredients we need to continue making the amazing dishes we feature. Whether you prefer to experience Fire & Rice Paella through our catering, private parties or farmers markets this fall and winter, you will not be disappointed.
At Fire & Rice, we have addressed supply shortages to ensure our customer's needs are met. These shortages have been an issue for almost 24 months ... so far. So many of the staples that food service companies – and consumers – depend on have been hard to source. We saw this situation forming, may months back. The first shortage we had to address was chicken, and we use quite a lot of it! Not only have we been able to secure the supplies needed for our recipes, we also continue to offer the high-quality food we have always served.
We continue to stay "abreast" -- no pun intended – of anticipated shortages of the ingredients we need. And we will continue to purchase well in advance to so we can fulfill our orders. Also, at Fire & Rice, we will not skimp on quality in any way.
When you hear about restaurant industry labor shortages, you may think the media is just referring to restaurant staff. The current labor shortage is much more wide-ranging than that. It has affected the labor supply for farms, food-processing plants, trucking companies and yes, the ports. The whole infrastructure of our country’s food supply system is suffering, and it will take more time for it to grow strong again. Most sources attribute these ongoing problems to the pandemic, while some also blame the worsening effects of climate change. It’s all connected, and it’s wreaking havoc on the distribution networks that food service companies rely on every day.
So rest assured that Fire & Rice is here for you with our delicious paella. You will still be able to hire our food truck for your event, have us cater your parties and find us at Naples-area farmers markets. Don’t miss the energy and excitement of the ultimate paella experience!
